I do not have a closet in my room, but a bed niche. Painted yellow,
and plastered with prayers on paper--likely to be thumb-tack'd than taped.
Being sick, quite obviously, gets the best of me. It's grinding enough to be a selfish human being; but to be trapped in with a mind that speaks so shrill with pain and discomfort, when speaking at all, is the closest thing to Godless I've known. A well-known Hell. The first fruits of His creation seem secreted and sour. Oh how I need Him! I can't carry my own thoughts without catching a cold!
I only sit in my niche when I'm either in my right mind or sleeping. I don't have a lot of routine in my life anymore, so I make sanctuary space. My niche is my primary space. He holds it as Holy, and so do I... I try. In silence (or Satie!) I can look at Him as a child to a father, and ask so many questions! Or just as well be calmly comforted.
I can't sleep in my niche when I'm sick, I don't want to anyways. Stillness is so stale at a fever-pitch! But I miss it.
Sanctuary is sweet.
